Sarson ka Saag

Sarson  ka Saag-

 It is an authentic Punjabi dish. Basically it is served with Makai ki roti which enhances its taste. It is served in winter season. It is the combination of mustard leaves (sarson leaves) , palak  and bathua. All three greens are very healthy and nutritious. Sarson ka saag is topped with butter or desi ghee which gives it richness.

Ingredients
  1. Mustard leaves- 2 bunches
  2. Palak leaves- 1 /2 bunch
  3. Bathua- 1/4 bunch
  4. onion- 2 medium size
  5. Garlic- 7-8 cloves
  6. Tomato- 1 medium size
  7. Cornmeal- 2 tbsp.
  8. Garlic- 1pc
  9. Salt -as per taste
Method
  1. The very first step is to cut all green leaves.
  2. Wash it properly and drain out.
  3. Take the pan and put all greens and onion, garlic, ginger and tomato.
  4. Add some water and salt to it.
  5. Cook it till all the greens becomes tender and soft.
  6. Now take out all greens from the pan and cool it down.
  7. Grind it in mixer.
  8. Take some oil in other pan and put finely chopped onion.
  9. Saute till it becomes transparent and soft.
  10. Now add the saag mix.
  11. Add cornmeal and mix it well .
  12. Cook it for 10 to 15 min.
  13. Serve it hot topping with white butter/desi ghee.
  14. Makkai ki roti is the best companion of Sarson ka Saag.

  3. Helps to lower the cholesterol
